Don’t Accept Foreclosure! 3 Facts Every Homeowner Should Know

Financial troubles visit nearly everyone at some point. If you’re behind in your mortgage, consult with a real estate professional who is highly experienced in negotiation with banks and other lenders. Many people panic when their lender starts talking about foreclosure.

Three facts everyone facing foreclosure needs to know:

  1. The bank does not want your property! They want their money!
  2. The time to act is now! Banks follow a series of steps before they foreclose and this process takes time. BUT it doesn’t take forever and they WILL take your home if given no other choice.
  3. The people contacting you from the bank are collectors. Even If they are rude or unpleasant, don’t assume the bank won’t work with you on finding a solution. When I talk with your lender, I will be talking with a different set of folks who will actively work to find a solution.

As a real estate professional, I will work with you and your mortgage company to assess your specific situation and let you know what your options are.  My goal is to help you preserve your credit and your dignity with compassion.

Additionally, if you are facing other credit issues, I can recommend a free not-for profit resource who can assist you with working with other collections and  bill paying difficulties. Contact me for further information.

Wishing you all the best,
